Flashback prides itself in offering a full service and is operating 24 hours.

The last few years of Flashback speak for themselves - we are now Australia's largest demoscene party! We are the definitive event downunder for C64, Amiga, PC, Atari, Amstrad, Spectrum, Raspberry PI, homebrew hardware (etc etc!) and everything else in-between!

You can checkout the schedule here.

The prominent features of the party are impossible to ignore:

Live Performances
Prepare to have your socks knocked off! Each year we have live music performances. Grab a beverage and sit back in our lounge and be entertained by various guys performing on our stage. Last year we had Victory Road, Chainsaw Police, Derris - Kharlan, Ctrix, Ziggy and GodInPants who delivered a variation of chip, guitar, DJ and synth work. Want to perform? Please let us know in advance so we can schedule you into the party timetable!

Computer Museum

WOWSERS! Last year we had a huge museum. Lots of nostalgic hardware was on display as well as homebrew gadgets and very rare and exotic hardware. This year we plan to have more variation and try extend the coverage of systems on display. The museum gives you the opportunity to sit down and play games and demos on real hardware. C64, C128, SX-64, Amiga 500, Amiga 1000, Amiga 2000, Amiga CD32, Amiga CDTV, Amiga 3000, Atari 2600, Amstrad, Spectrum and more will be available. We encourage people to bring their equipment, all of which is on show in a safe lockable room that is under video surveillance. Take a time machine and venture down old paths and old glories, be young again!

Retro video game compos on the big screen

Bring back that nostalgia and join in the fun on the big screen with the classic old games such as IK+, Wonder boy, California games plus much more. We will have classic machines in action this year on the big screen and in the retro museum such as the C64 and Amiga classics.

Special screening of the film - From Bedrooms to Billions - by Anthony Caulfield & Nicola Caulfield

We are honoured to be screening the film that has been in the making for 2 years called "From Bedrooms to Billions" - a video games documentary. We have been given this screening directly from the film creators especially for the Flashback party. We will also be previewing the sequel called The Amiga Years for your entertainment! Sit back and enjoy!

BBQ & Beers

We have the best venue in the Southern hemisphere. One of its prime attractions is the balcony outside area for people to relax. We have a BBQ and cook up for the hungry masses, our patrons are well looked after at Flashback central - smoking is permitted! Whilst we have vending machines, for alcohol it is BYO!

Flashback party revellers are encouraged to compete in scheduled competitions (referred to as compos). These are spread across the duration of the event, these compos are categorised in a way that allow the Flashback attendants to showcase their artistic talents with the use of computers. Whether it is game, demo, graphic, music or something that does not fit any category at all (WiLD). People do not have to bring a demo, tune or other artwork to attend the event but if you are able to, it makes the event more fun for everyone. The Flashback party crew are very passionate about coding, graphics and music, so you will surrounded by maximum oldschool geekdom!

We run a compo entry management and voting system based around 'Partymeister' for submitting graphics, music and code. This system auto-generates our slides for projection onto the bigscreen and is accessible via our 3G internet.

You can checkout the competition information here.

Prize giving

The ceremony of announcing who won the compos and handing out prizes and trophies. This is the big moment when we see people rewarded and given acclaim for their hard fought efforts during the compos!
